Dark diversity: linkage to plant invasion

Biological invasion is a widespread phenomenon and tends to progress in an escalating trajectory. Dark diversity, the set of species that can thrive in a site but is currently absent, is a valuable tool to project future invasion scenarios. Defining the dark diversity of non-native species can elucidate the intensity of the threat likely to be faced by different sites and the identities of the species that pose that potential threat. This presentation will cover the main aspects explored during my PhD studies: the dark diversity concept focused on non-native plant species.
