Genome diversity and evolution of giant viruses infecting eukaryotes
Giant viruses are double-stranded DNA viruses with extraordinary genomes and large particle sizes that infect a wide range of eukaryotic organisms, including vertebrate and invertebrate animals, fungi, algae, amoebae, flagellates, and many others. In this talk, I will illustrate some important biological features of giant viruses with recent studies on their genomes and evolution.
