Citizen science: opportunities for conservation and environmental governance
Citizen Science (CS) refers to the active participation of volunteers in scientific research. It has been practiced for long time in biology and environmental research, but only recently, its potential for management practices has been recognised. This talk will focus on the potential of CS for conservation and environmental governance in general. It will introduce key terms of CS, disciplines where CS has been applied, and brings examples where CS is/can be useful for conservation and management decision-making-
