Life history evolution during a climate-driven butterfly range expansion

Climate change changes species ranges, but the role of evolution in this process is unclear. With lab and field experiments as well as genomic data on the wall brown butterfly (Lasiommata megera), I show that seasonal timing traits evolve readily and repeatedly during range expansion, yet other, non-evolving, traits still limit expansion.
