The PhD programme lasts for 4 years and requires 240 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) to be earned for completion. Out of these, 60 ECTS are given for doctoral studies and 180 ECTS for research work. The PhD candidate will perform research under a supervisor or supervisors. The results of the research are presented as a doctoral thesis, which will be defended in an open dissertation in the council of the Institute of Ecology and Earth Sciences.
