Responses of boreal trees to increasing environmental humidity: expected impact of regional climate trends
Global warming brings about substantial changes in the water cycle at both global and regional scales, accompanied by rising lower-tropospheric water vapour content, specific humidity and precipitation at high latitudes. So far, there is little information on how the trees will respond to increasing precipitation and concomitant rise in environmental humidity, predicted for northern latitudes. The presentation explains the trees’ responses based on the results got from the FAHM experiment.
The seminar is organised by the Department of Botany and Center of Excellence AgroCropFuture.
